I've been wanting a dog since we bought our house, but we've been putting it off for a few different reasons (wait till the baby is born, wait till we have a fence, wait till we're home from summer, wait till we get our back-end check..) and the wait is finally over! Our new little member will be joining us the first week in November. After spending the weekend in California last month with Matt's mom and her dog, Barkley, we realized the perfect dog for us was one just like Barkley. A Coton de Tulear. Those of you who know me well might be shocked to hear that we're getting a white fluffy dog (because i usually like rough-and-tumble ones) but Barkley was SO GOOD with Maxson and Maxson LOVED Barkley. And the most important thing to us was to get a dog that is great with kiddos! Cotons look just like miniature sheep dogs. They're extremely loyal, loving, smart, and good with kids, and also they don't shed and are considered a hypo-allergenic breed. We're so excited!!! We've even already picked out a name... :)
This coton isn't ours...he's only 2 weeks old...but this is a visual of what he's going to look like! He'll be about 15 pounds, so they aren't too little (these ones aren't full grown).
We CAN'T wait!!! :)
That will be fun. We have that same breed of dog. He is really a good dog.. funny enough - he does not really like kids, he sweet around them and does not bite, but he prefers quiet to loud. I would say Cosmo doesn't shed, but because he has so much hair anyway, it does fall out every now and then...then I will find it in the babies mouth.
