Our holidays were great. we went to seattle to be with my family and ended up staying for almost two weeks. while i love my family so much (and miss them terribly when i'm back in utah) it was so great to get home. living out of a suitcase for 2 weeks is tough. a 14 hour road trip is tough. especially when you have to do it twice. with an 8 month old.
On the way back from our trip, my dear baby maxson got sick. it was so sad because he just wanted to be cuddled and loved, but he had to be in his car seat the whole time. and let me tell you, he was not happy about it. and neither was i!
Matt started school again and he's loving it. he's in the final few credits of his degree in entrepreneurship and he's getting really inspired to start up different businesses. i love watching the wheels turn in his head and talking about all his plans and ideas for the future. what a lucky bride i am to have such a motivated, smart, and talented groom!
Maxson is crawling like a mad man (well, more like "rowing", as my friend Abby pointed out... he uses both arms on one side to scoot forward, then switches sides and scoots both arms on the other side. it really does look like he's rowing a boat!). he's also pulling himself up onto E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. the couch. the ottoman. nimbus's kennel. the laundry basket. my head. he's just starting to walk along the couch and ottoman too! i think he'll be walking in the next couple months.

Maxson also has started to wave hi to people! it's so cute. he mostly does it to nimbus :). he'll be sitting in his high chair, and nimbus likes to wait below for cheerios to fall down...maxson will lean over the edge and open and close his fingers and smile at the puppy. SOO CUTE. every morning. He also says caaa-kerr caaa-kerr when he's eating anything crunchy. he's such a smart little one :)
I've officially lost ALL my baby weight. lemme tell ya, it feels GREAT. i'm wearing t-shirts, i bought my first pair of JEGGINGS...i'm a woman transformed! ;) i've lost 2 inches from my waist, 2 from my hips, 1/2 inch from my arms, and over an inch from my thighs! if i can do it, YOU can do it, fellow mommy!
My friend Abby and I are going to start an etsy shop! more details to come with photos of our product, but get excited! MAYBE we'll even do a GIVEAWAY for our grand opening! stay tuned for more details :)
now on to some bad news:
Apparently, maxson is the same weight he was when he was 4 months old. while he's gotten much taller and stronger since then, he hasn't fattened up. we have to go see a specialist this week to figure out what's going on. i'm worried. it's been way stressful trying to force food down his throat to get him to gain weight... but hey, life isn't about rainbows and sunshine and butterflies all the time. things get tough once in awhile, and we have to be even MORE tough than the situation to get through them. so while i usually like to focus on the positive and great amazing things going on in my life (which are WAY more plentiful than the bad things!!!), i felt like i needed to share this with you. it's okay to recognize that your life isn't perfect, i think. So pray for baby maxson, please. i so desperately want him to be fat and chubby so that i know he's getting everything he needs. if anyone has words of wisdom on this topic, that would be great!
I hope all of your holidays were wonderful! and happy new year to all! as i said, stay tuned for more details on our etsy shop :)
Love the update! Cute rowing picture, haha! And I can totally hear a cute little voice saying caaa-ker. Sweet! So how old is he now? And hasn't gained any weight? Huh, well I hope there's nothing wrong and he's just not one of those obese babies! Brady's not either. He grows taller and stronger all the time... but never chubbier, haha. Maxson's got lean parents, so maybe he's just gonna be lean! Will pray for him though. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteIf he has allergies it would make it harder for him to gain weight. There are really great resources for nursing a baby with allergies on the LLLi.org website under the forums section where moms help eachother. You may find helpful advice there.
